背景

2019年BDOワールドチャンピオンシップ女子トーナメント、 鈴木未来は2018年10月に行われた2つしかない予選出場枠を争う予選で出場権を獲得して出場を果たした。 その緒戦であるとともに鈴木未来の初戦の対戦相手は、 2014、2015、2017、2018年にBDOワールドチャンピオンシップで優勝している、最有力優勝候補 リサ・アシュトン。

BDOワールドチャンピオンシップは一年を通じてBDOの世界中で行わてきた大会の中の総合順位でのトップランカーと予選通過者のみが参加できる年に1度のチャンピオンを決める最大のトーナメント。BDOは女子ダーツの中では世界最高峰なので勝者が女子世界チャンピオンである。2セットを先にとった方が勝ち。1セットは3レグを先にとった方が勝ち。レグは501というゲーム。501から当てたところの点数によって点を引いて行き、最後はダブルというダーツボードの縁に近い細いところに当てなければならない。

コメンテーター

John Rawling(ジョン・ローリング)とPaul Nicolson(ポール・ニコルソン),による実況。ジョン・ローリングはイギリスではダーツ とボクシングの実況で有名なコメンテーター。ポール・ニコルソンは現役の名選手だが、ここではコメンテーター。鈴木が先行し、二人とも鈴木の健闘を称えつつもいつかアシュトンが逆転するのではと思っていた節があると感じられる。 衝撃の展開で最後にポール・ニコルソンの声が裏返る!

[J]おっと、リサ・アシュトンは大人気だね。道をかき分けてるよ。ステージに向かって、いつもリラックスしてます。2014,2015,そして2017,2018年のチャンピオン、13のランキングタイトルを持ってます、そしてリック(アナウンサーのリチャード・アシュダウン)が言った通り、去年アナスタシアを決勝戦で3-1でくだしています。今年も凄いパフォーマンスを見せてくれることになるのでしょうか。とても印象がよくて、ちょっとしたダーツ王朝を築いています。娘さんのダニエラとリンジーはランキングに名前を連ねていて、ダニエラは世界20位で近いうちにこの舞台にも上がってくるでしょう。リンジーは直近の情報では75位です。さて、どちらかというと、みなさんはリサ・アシュトンではないかと思っているかもしれません。鈴木未来はとても人気のある新顔でレイクサイドのデビューで観衆に大歓迎されてます。ジャパンオープンのチャンピオンで、日本では有名人ななんですよね、ポール。

[P] そうですね、なかなかのスティールとソフトダーツの両方のスーパースターで、プレイスタイルが派手で、ワクワクして、才能があります。そしてダーツ界の誰もが、彼女の登場に興奮してますよ。

[J] 統計によると、2年間やそこらソフトダーツで負けなかったとか、とんでもないですね。

[P] ええ、彼女はダーツライブのトーナメントでプレイしていて、高く評価されてて、いや、すごいですよ。フィル・テイラーが招待された、限られたソフトダーツのスーパースターだけのスーパーダーツに招待されて、出場枠を与えられました。

[J] ちょっとは賞金もらえたのかな?

[P] 一回戦がどうなったのか、ちょっと思い出せないけど、ソフトダーツではブルを外さないんです。技術的にいいものを持ってます。そして、スティールダーツを去年あたりから本格的に取り組み始めてます。

第1セット　1レグ目

[J] リサ・アシュトンは鈴木未来にちょっといい感じで日本式のお辞儀をしましたね。PDCワールドチャンピオンシップに出場しました。ヤン・デッカーに3-1で負けましたけど、ヤン・デッカーはここレイクサイドにも出場したことのあるとても良いオランダのプレイヤーです。彼から最初のセットをとりました。第1セットのアベレージは確か107を超えてて、もの凄いプレーをしばらくして、ただの客寄せだとか、なんであれがいるんだとか、なんだかんだ言ってる人がいたけど、1レグ半はどう見ても素晴らしいダーツをしてきました。

[P] そうですね、堂々たるものでした。

[J] 2レグ半だったね。

[P] (PDCワールドチャンピオンシップが行われた)アレクサンドラ・パレスへの予選ですら、あとでお目にかかれるマリア・オブライエンと対戦して、132をブルで決めて(難しい数字の一つ。ブルで決めたということはSB T19 DB )ミルトン・キーンズでの予選を勝っているんです。リサ・アシュトンは私にとってはまさしく偉大なプレイヤーなんです。

[J] やり方についてクリス(メイソン)と話していたんですが、多分いつできるかどうかわかりませんが、鈴木未来を横から撮れないかと思っているんです。クリスと私は、みなさんも分かると思いますけど、鈴木は技術的にお手本になるほどよい技術を持っていると思っているんです。

[P] いや、全くその通りだね。スタンスが本当にしっかりしているし、投げるときにどこも動かないし、ダーツを投げる毎に力強く右手を完全に伸ばしてます。見ての通り、アームサポーターを投げる腕につけていて、アジアではたくさんの選手が筋力をあげてターゲットに当てるために使ってます。このレグではちょっと良く打ってて、160としてます。

[J] 上がることはここではできませんが、好ましい数字を残せました。60残としてます。

[J] アシュトンができることは、ちょっとプレッシャーをかけることだけです。リサは見ての通り、投げるのが速いです。

第1セット　2レグ目

[P] そこの皆んな、鈴木未来はステージに初めて出てきた新人で、4回優勝しているチャンピオンにはかなわないと思っているだろうけど、考え直せ。鈴木未来は勝ちに来てるし、勝てるんだぜぃ。

[J] 36才にして、レイクサイドデビューした鈴木未来。リサ・アシュトンは早く追いついて並ばなくてはならないことが良くわかっています。

[P] リチャード・アシュダウンとマーチン・アダムスが男子と女子のドローを引いて、これが決まったときは垂涎ものだったね。なんでかというと、ちょうど12ヶ月前に香港で会っていて、ソフトダーツのワールドカップで日本のチームが我々の(イギリス)チームを破った原動力が彼女だったんだ。彼女は変える力を持っている。その後、彼女の試合をよく研究してね、それで大ファンなんだ。

[P] アシュトンはそのドローの時、二つの世界タイトルを持ってた(訳注:レイクサイドワールドチャンピオンシップとワールドトロフィー)。今は4つ(訳注:去年の10月に開催されたワールドマスターズとフィンダーマスターズ)。アシュトンは、もちろん10のタイトルを持つクリスティーナ(訳注:トリナ)・ガリバーに注ぐ、二番目に偉大な女子プレイヤーと評価されるべきです。リサ・アシュトンが5つのタイトルをとると、彼女は、5つの世界タイトルを持つ、エリック・ブリストウ、ライモント・ヴァンバーネフェルト、フィル・テイラー、トリナ・ガリバーのエリートグループ入りとなります。

[P] アシュトンは、ステージ上で大きいスコアをとったり、すごい打ち方をすることは置いといて、相手を精神的に折ろうとするようなタイプの選手ではないですが、今のところ、鈴木はアベレージ82.5と着実で、リサは悪くはないですが、まだ落ち着いていません。

[J] 夏の思い出を巡ると、2年前にこのステージで6回上がりを逃したことがあったね。(ジョン・ローリングは、2017年夏のワールドマスターズ、女子準々決勝のコリーネ・ハモンド戦のことを言っている。正しくは2016年のワールドマスターズはレイクサイドで行われたが2017年はレイクサイドではないので「このステージ」ではない。この試合で鈴木は圧倒的に優勢に試合を進めたがダブルが入らず、鈴木はハモンドに勝てなかった。)

[J] とにかく、アシュトンはD18狙い。(アシュトン S18)　そしてD9。難しいやつ。(アシュトン S9)。分けてしまいました。(訳注 S1 D4またはS5 D2の二本が必要になったということ。)

[P] 鈴木は、最後の数字が災難でした。64でD13にいれてパーストしてしまいました。そのため、四角の奴(訳注:64。8掛ける8。)を全部やり直しです。シングル8で56残。　16かな? ちょっと考えています。シングル16。高過ぎた。(鈴木 S8)。刺さり方が心配だったのだと思います。

[P] 少しメンタルが体に影響を与えてるのかな。鈴木はいつもよりちよっと速く投げてます。　アシュトンのペースに引き摺られています。ここはS1 D4。(アシュトンS1で8残)、緑のところ(アシュトン S4で4残)、次は赤のD2。(訳注:D4は緑、D2は赤色に塗られている。)

[J] そのまま狙うでしょう。(訳注:S1 D2ではなく、D5。) 狙っているようです。D5に命中!

[P] こんなに低い(アシュトンの)アベレージは見たことがないと思う。マーク・マクギーニーはジョン(訳注:この解説しているジョン・ローリング)に、午後一で試合することがいかに本当に難しいかについてなにか先ほど話してましたけど、もし、ここで負けると次のトーナメントまでは長い長い道のりで、関係ないダーツをたくさん見ることになると思うと、プレッシャーがかかって、もがかずに投げ続ける人はほとんどいないのです。

[J] リサ・アシュトンらしくなってきたぞ。

[P] アシュトンのダーツは、かなり重くて大きいけど、美しい軌跡で飛ばして、彼女の最高のダーツで高い得点を叩き出します。

[J] デーブ・チズネルのやり方となんか似てるな、リサ・アシュトンは。

[P] チズネルは2010年に決勝に進出してるよ。

[P] 2年前に、リサ・アシュトンが優勝したとき、その日はデーブ・チズネルの結婚式に出席する予定だったんだけど、タイトルをその日に結婚したミカエラとデーブ捧げたんだよ。(訳注:捧げる(devote)というのは外国でよく使われるけど、感謝の気持ちを公にする程度の意味と思われます。)

[J] チズネルは、地上波で放映される大きな大会で勝てないという、ささいな悩ましいことに取り憑かれている優秀な選手の一人で、決まり文句でそのお猿さんを振りほどきたいだろうね。(訳注:決まり文句を使う(use a cliche)というのが優勝を捧げられたということと関連していると思われます。)

[J] もし、鈴木がこれを決めたら、リサ・アシュトンはマジでビビるでしょう。D16 狙いにするためT17を狙ってます。今回はだめです。 (訳注　S17に入ったので。) そしてアシュトンは56残ですがプレッシャーがかかります。

[P] リサ・アシュトン、ラッキー。まだセットに残ってる、ダブルの5だ。命中! ボードのトップでスコアを無くすことを気にしなかったよね。(訳注: わざと外側に外してマーカーを作らず、そのまま一本目でD5に入れたためと思われます。)ダブル18ではなくてわざとダブル20を残したね、リサ。(訳注: 56残からS20 D18ではなく、S16 D20に行ったため。)そして今、リサはなんで思い通りに行かないんでしょと戸惑っている様子。セットには残りましたけど。

[J] なぜか教えてあげよう。あのダーツの前に、10本、いや9本かな、ダブルを外していて、今、10本目でやっと1本当ったという破滅的な統計になってるんだよ。

[P] ザ・ミラクルが、ちょっとそう呼んでませんけど、彼女のニックネームなんで、なんで彼女が9を残したか知りたいです。 (訳注　ちょっと不思議だったのでミラクルと掛けている。)66残から、T9いやT16でD9だけ。(訳注 66からT14 D12 またはT10 D18で偶数のダブルを残せるのにという話。二本あればS16に外したときDBを狙えるのでT16 Ｄ9を狙うことはあるが最後の１本だった。)普通じゃないけど、最終的にセットをとるために二本持っていながら活用できなかった。(訳注:87からT17 D18の二本で上がれるけどS17に外れて66残になったから。)

[J] できなかったね、我々はよくやるけど。

[P] アジアで鈴木はすんごい大きな観衆の前でプレイしていて、特に、香港のアリーナで行われるその年の最終イペントは、特にすんごい観衆なんです。

[J] そうだね。もう言ったかもしれないけど、そうだったらごめんね、彼女には大きな日本では有名なスポンサーがついてます。彼女がここに来たのは、10,000ポンドの賞金のためだけではなくて、トーナメントに勝つためで、もし、あんなメンタルだったらどんな大会でも有利だよ。

[P] そうだね、日本のダーツプレイヤーは有名人です。不幸にもなくなった橋本守容のように。(鈴木 T20)ナイス60。そして彼は有名人で、村松治樹と同じ大きなスポンサーが付いてました。

[J] ということは、D12を決めたら、並ぶってことで、良くはなかったかもしれませんが、レグ数ではそうなります。(アシュトン S12)これが入れば16ダーツだったが、D6はどうか。外しました。(アシュトン S6)難しいやつ(訳注　D3はボードの一番下にあり一般的に難しい。)そして、入りました。キョウレツー!

第1セット　5レグ目

[P] これは鈴木未来にとっては痛いですね。相手がD12をミスして、D6を内側にはずしたら、D3は難しいと思いますよね。最終的にアシュトンはガソリン満タン。2-2になりました。３レグ目のミラクル?セット・ダーツが今や遠のいて見えます。〔訳注　3レグ目で66からT16に入れて珍しく奇数のダブルD9となる18残としたが、D9をやる前にアシュトンが上がり、チャンスが無かった。なぜだろうと話題にしていた。)

[J] 鈴木はまだチャンスあるかね？　アシュトンは無いことを願ってるに決まってるけど。トリプルに当たらない! (アシュトン S20 S19 S19)プレッシャー掛けたかったところ。

[P] ジョン、どう思う? 今の女子の試合のステータスについて、賞金やスポンサーの点からみて。十分じゃないと思うんだけど。

[J] しらんけど、いや、あの、毎年のようにこのことについて話してるよね。ないよ、本当に、ああ、男子の試合が女子の試合よりもはるかに進んでる!なんて言う理由は見つからないよ。リサは、そ、そんなレベルの当たりで戦えることを示したけど、か、彼女は一人じゃなくて、じ、女子の試合に求めるのは強さじゃないという考えに立ち向かう十字軍なんです。(訳注　なんでどもっているのか不明)

[P] その通り、ダーツを投げれる女性やこんなことやって見たい若い娘たちは、練習に参加して、鈴木が日本のためにここでやってるように先頭に立ってもらいたい。鈴木は時計で言えば12時の当たりでレグを決める凄い腕を持ってるよ。(訳注 鈴木は第1レグをD20、第2レグをD5とボードの上のほうでフィニッシュしている。)

[J] 3-2がこれにかかってます。現在80残。鈴木がオープニングセットを勝つために大好きな燃える赤を見てます。トリプル20を見据えて。(鈴木　S20) トップトップスだ。さあ、行くぞ！トップトップスって言ったのは60だからS20、D20と言う意味ね。(訳注　D20はダブルなので20が２つと言うことで複数形のトップスとなる。)

[P] もし鈴木がシングル1に外してセットを決めに行って失敗すると三回目の取りこぼし。しかしこのレグでは大きくリードしてます。ここは取れると思われます。

[J] そう思うかもしれないけど、全ては気持ちの問題。まず7で、ちょっと焦ったか、ダーツを落とした。ダブル16、大きく外した。うあっ！やりよった！

[J] どんなもんだい！なんとオープニングセットは現チャンピオンには渡らず。ベストオブ3のゲーム(訳注　2セット先取)で、鈴木が1-0とリード。

第2セット　1レグ目

[P] まあ、よい立ち上がりで、リサ。第２セット140です。ここから頑張ると言わんばかりのスタートです。ジョンが言ったように第１セットでダブルをたくさんミスりましたが、鈴木の猛攻にあいました。

[J] その通りでダブルの撃ち合いで鈴木は12本中3本、リサは13本中2本ですから、アベレージにかなり悪い影響がありますし、現時点では あまり良くありません。

[P] ジョン、このご婦人達はこの試合が女子の試合にとってどれだけ大きいものか知ってるような気がしますよ。自分はこの試合が女子ダーツの看板だと思うので、女子の試合とはなにかを見せつけるというプレッシャーが二人に掛かっているかもしれません。

[J] BDO ユーチューブチャンネルでお伝えして、ここで今世界中の皆さんが私達と楽しんでいただいてます。そして、このライブは日本でもたくさんの人が観ていることでしょう。

[J] リサ・アシュトンはまだ窮地ではないですが第2セットのオープニングレグを負けるとかなり嫌な予感がします。鈴木はあと１セットとればいいのですから。

[P] これに勝ったほうが第7シードのシャロン・プリンスか、イングランドのロス・バルマーと対戦。

[J] アシュトン140欲しい。届かずで、鈴木は95、最後のダーツは凄かったけど(訳注　60残1本持ちで刺さったダーツとの干渉とバーストを避けてD20に入れた。)、95残、ブレイクなるか。

第2セット 2レグ目

[J] うわっ、やった。真っ直ぐ叩き込んでブレイクに向かいます。キープしました、いえ、ブレークしました、すみません。そして鈴木は、大きくリード。

[P] チーフジャーナリストは何が起きてるんだろうと思ってるよ。まさにこのセット、1-0で鈴木未来でこの試合はベスト・オブ・スリーですから最初に２セット取れば勝ちです。ですから鈴木はほとんどゴールが見えてますが行く手にはリサ・アシュトンで、不屈なことは分かってます。

[J] フリムリー・グリーン(訳注 レイクサイドがある場所の名前)に到着してからささやいていたかどうか知らないけど、アシュトン・ファンにとっては冷や汗ものになってます。

[P] いまやっているこの試合だけでなくて他の良いプレイヤーの違う試合にもワクワクしますけど、女子の試合は色とりどりですよ。コリーネ・ハモンド対ァロン・シャロックは本当に楽しみ。去年二人はベスト8進出をかけて戦ったから、(訳注　2-1でシャロックが勝った) またシャロック登場って言うけど、現ワールド・トロフィーチャンピオンのシャロックにコリーネ・ハモンドがどれだけ戦えるかなと。

[J] そのうち分かるね。　アシュトン221残で140もう一発。　だんだん良くなってきました。　このセットでアベレージ100超えが必要なところ。

[P] ここは下に打たなくてはいけなかったよ、未来さん。間違えたね。(訳注 269からS20 T20で189残になったとき、S20に入れたが、下のT19を狙って、もしS19に入れれば170残となって3本で上がれる数字を残せた。169では三本で上がれない。)

[J] 特筆すべきはなんのアクシデントもなく鈴木が勝って、勝利に値して、運に助けられたのではないということです。リサ・アシュトンは第2セットでは調子が戻ってました。鈴木は追い詰めて、本命をトーナメントから追いやりました。鈴木が2-0で勝利し、観客に愛されてます。

最後に

世界中をまさしく震撼させたこの試合、鈴木未来さんはこれに留まらず勝ち続けて、決勝戦でロレイン・ウィンスタンレーに勝ち(鈴木未来さんBDOワールドチャンピオンシップ決勝戦実況の和訳(完訳))、レイクサイド・ワールドチャンピオンシップに初出場・初優勝というとんでもない快挙を成し遂げました。

[J]Boy, such a popular player, Lisa Ashton, making a way now. To the stage where she always looks so comfortable. Champion in 2014 and 15 then in 17 and 18, she holds 13 ranking titles and Rick has just told you, beat Anastasia 3-1 in the final last year. And I wonder she is destined for another big performance this year. Huge likable and getting a little bit darting dynasty, daughters Danielle and Linsey both up on the ranking Danielle is ranked twenty in the world and she will be up on the stage before too long, Linsey is at the latest count now ranked seventy five. Well, head to head everything you would think would favor Lisa Ashton. Mikuru Suzuki very popular addition, making her lakeside debut and getting a great reception from the crowd, reigning Japanese open champion and over in Japan I know she is something of a celebrity, Paul.

[P] Yeah, just bit of a super star and steel tip and soft tip darts, the way she approaches the games she’s got color, she is exciting and she’s got talent. And everybody within the world of the darts is really excited to have her here.

[J] In the some stats about not having lost soft tip games for back two years something. It is extraordinary.

[P] Yes, she plays the darts live circuit and she is so highly regarded and not, that’s tough. She was invited in playing the SUPER DARTS event which only classified soft tip super stars, Phil Taylor was invited, Mikuru so highly regarded female games she was given a spot as well.

[J] She gives ah gets a little bit a run for this money?

[P] I don’t remember at top of my head how she played in the first round, but, she does not miss bull’s eyes in soft tip. She is very good technically. And in steel tip, and the last year or so, she started to find her feet.

[J] Doing little bit a nice little Japanese bow to Mikuru Suzuki. Lisa who played a course on PDC World Championships. She lost to Jan Dekker 3-1 having taken the opening set there against Dekker, very good Dutch player who was seen of course play at the worlds here. She was averaging over I think 107 in that first set, played absolutely brilliantly for a while and people who say or sort of said you know, she is just tokenism, why she’s there, and she went out and absolutely played brilliantly for the first leg and half.

[P] Yes, she was majestic.

[J] Second and half, I mean.

[P] I mean even get to Alexandra Place, she met Maria O’brien who will see later in the tournament 132 out on the bull to actually win that qualifier in Milton Keynes. Lisa Ashton is just a great dart player for me.

[J] I was talking about style with Chris and perhaps we can at some point, I don’t know we’re gonna be able to get a side-on view of Mikuru Suzuki, but Chris (Mason) is saying and I think you would go along with that but technically she’s about as good as you can be.

[P] Yeah, absolutely right, ah, the stances are really solid nothing moves when she throws as a massive full extension of the right arm with every dart as you can see, she is wearing the tight sleeve on the right arm, the throwing arm, which is a lot, a lot of the people in Asa use just give themselves more muscles make sure the trying hitting the target. In this leg she score a little bit better with the darts on 160.

[J] She can’t finish on this occasion but she’s favorite to hold her throw. It’s gonna have 60 when she returns.

[P] You guys out there, you think Mikuru Suzuki it’s new person on the stage and she is not gonna be dangerous to the four times champion, think again because Mikuru Suzuki is here to win this much and she can.

[J] 36 years old making her lakeside debut Mikuru Suzuki and Lisa Ashton only too well aware that she want to get an early hold on this, she needs together a leg on the board.

[P] I remember when they made the draw Richard Ashdown and Martin Adams did the draw for both forms the men and the female decided the draw and when this came out my mouth was salivating because just over 12 months I met her in Hong Kong just over 12 months ago and she was the reason why her Japanese team knocked out my team in the world cup of soft tip dart. She was the difference-maker and after that I’ve just studied　her game so much that’s why I’m such a big fan.

[P] Aston in that time was picked up another two world titles of darts(Lakeside World Championships and World Trophy). It’s four now(World Masters and Finder Masters in October). She is got to be regarded as possibly the second greatest woman player of all time behind the Christina (Trina) Gulliver who has ten titles of course. She gets to a fifth Lisa Ashton she’ll join an elite group of players who’ve got five world titles, Eric Bristow, Raymond van Barnevelt, Phil Taylor and Trina Gulliver.

[J} Good stats. She plays with a smile on her face, doesn’t she, Suzuki? Lisa Ashton is just not quite throwing yet as she can and Suzuki gonna be able to get the break of throw here.

[P] Ashton is not the type of player trying crack her opponent mentally besides trying them with big scoring and great decisions on the stage but right now Suzuki is just steady way averaging around about eighty two and a half, that’s not too bad, but Lisa hasn’t found a range at all, yes.

[P] Suzuki had a disaster in the last digit. At 64 she busted on double 13 so she’s got to go all the way about the square one single 8 that leaves 56 so single 16? She’s having to think about it, single 16. She missed it too high. I think she was worried about that lie.

[P] I think a few nerves are playing a body at a run. Suzuki is playing a little bit quicker than she usually does. She may be getting draw into a quicker match by Aston. One for double four this time. The green bit. Now it’s the red bit, double two!

[J] A beautiful dart gets in there in the end. That’s the break of throw. Lisa Ashton, a match average talked about how she often gets it up into the 90s shaking her head because it’s now 57.2.

[P] I don’t think I’ve ever seen this actually average that low. Mark McGeeney was saying something earlier on John about how it’s really difficult to play an opening afternoon and few of the people throw on on-leash struggle because the pressure on if you are out this afternoon you’d got a long long long way to the next tournament and you’ll be watching a lot of darts that you’re not part of.

[J] That is more the Lisa Ashton we know.

[P] Those darts of Ashton, they are quite heavy and bulky but she throws them a beautiful trajectory and she does score very heavily with those her best darts.

[J] Something the same management stable as Dave Chisnall, Lisa Ashton.

[P] Another two years ago, when Lisa Ashton won the title, on that day she was supposed to be at the wedding of Dave Chisnall and dedicated the title to Michaela and Dave who married at that day.

[J] Chizzy is the best player one of those who have that frustrating little thing which is always attached to them never won a big televised tournaments and he’d love to get that particular monkey off his back to use a cliche.

[J] I’ll tell you a big reason why before that dart she’d had ten or nine rather missed doubles and now she’s got one out of ten which is a pretty ruinous statistic.

[P] I want to know why the Miracle which is Mikuru Suzuki I’m not just calling her that, that is her nickname. Why she left double 9? In 66, she headed treble 9, sorry, treble 16 only double nine. That’s not conventional but ultimately Suzuki’s had two darts to take the set she hasn’t habitualized.

[J] No, this is more like it we serve darts.

[P] Some of the crowds that she’s played in front of in the Far East, John. Massive massive crowd especially the arena in Hong Kong where they are the last soft tip event of the year, huge audience.

[J] Yes, she gets that, I don’t know if you referred to it earlier, I apologize if I’m if I’m something which has been previously stated but you know I mean she gets big sponsorship and is a significant name in Jaししpan. She comes over here and it’s not really about the ten thousand pound prize, it’s about winning the tournament and if you can go into any sort of tournament with that kind of mentality that’s gonna be an advantage.

[P] Yeah, these Japanese dart players are celebrities. The likes of Morihiro Hashimoto who died unfortunately. Nice 60. And he was a celebrity, big sponsor same with Haruki Muramatsu.

[P] That’s gonna hurt Suzuki, that one. This when you think your opponents missed twelve and gone inside sixes, double three is hard to hit. Ultimately Ashton had enough in the tank to get it done. It’s 2-2. Miracle set darts for Suzuki in leg three seem mile away now.

[J] Is she get another opportunity? At least Lisa Ashton will certainly hope not. (Ashton S20 S19 S19) She can’t find treble. She needed to pressure on.

[P] What’s your opinion, John, about the status of the ladies game at the minute from the prize money and sponsorship respect because I don’t think there’s enough in it.

[J] I don’t know, I mean, kind of have this conversation on annual basis, don’t we? There is no, I don’t see a reason really why the men’s game is supposedly, oh it is so far advanced beyond women’s game. Lisa has shown that she can play on the fringes of that sort o f level, but she’s not alone but she’s kind of the Crusader in that direction that is not the strength in the women’s game that you’d anticipate .

[P] Yeah, to all you ladies who can throw darts or the young girls who want to get involved in this, get some practice in and get yourself bearing up flag just like Suzuki is doing for Japan here. She is having a fabulous leg darts to leave area of twelve.(Suzuki finished D20 and D5. and these are area of 12 o’clock. )

[J] This is for three two. Eighty now. She sees her red hot favor to win this opening set, treble 20 she’s looking at. She’s going to go top tops. Here we go! Top tops what am I talking about, she’s gone 60 so needed 20 followed by tops.

[J] You think so but this is all about holding your nerve. That’s the seven, little bit of nerves there, she dropped her darts. Double 16. That’s missed by a mile. Oh, yes!

[J] How about that! Well the opening set goes against to the defending champion. It’s a race to 3 and Mikuru Suzuki leads one nil.

[P] Well, it’s fine wake-up, Lisa. She got Set 2 140. She got a start if she means to go on from here. Said John she’s missed a lot of darts doubles in the first set but Suzuki was there to pounce.

[J] (Mumbling) Exactly on fire with the double sub-assembly Suzuki three out of 12 and Lisa two out of 13 and that takes a much a detrimental effect on the averages which are pretty ordinary at the moment.

[P] The feeling, John, that these ladies know how enormous this game is for the ladies game. The pressure may be both on them to really show what the ladies games all about because for me this is one of the marquee matters of ladies darts right now.

[P] Suzuki had nip that leg do get the feeling that it was almost game over. Lisa almost needs a moment in this match where that left fist of hers comes out and she really celebrates that’s her characteristics celebration.

[J] She’s kind of hanging in there at the moment, isn’t she? It’s not a vintage Ashton performance by any manner or means.

Now she is smiling! Mikuru Suzuki knocked out the reigning women’s world champion and slowed five world championship for Lisa. Japan has won and this is going to send shocks and reverberations in darting world for the ladies.

[J] And thing is that is no accident she’s won it, she is deserved it, there was no luck there. Lisa Ashton really came back at her in that second set. Suzuki captured nerve and she’s put the big favorite out of the competition. Suzuki wins it by two sets to nil and the crowd are loving her.
